The Village of Bawburgh

Bawburgh lies in the valley of the River Yare about 5 miles (8.0 km) west of Norwich city centre. It has a population of around 600.

Please respond to the latest Greater Norwich Local Plan consultations regarding the proposed Gypsy and Traveller sites and additional housing:

South Norfolk Village Clusters Housing Allocations Plan – Broadland and South Norfolk (southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk). The closing date for this consultation was 5pm on Monday 8 March 2023.

The Gypsy and Traveller site would be located at land off Hockering Lane which would accommodate approximately 6 pitches (policy number GNLP5009). The closing date for this consultation is 20 March 2023 and can be found at Greater Norwich Local Plan Gypsy and Traveller Sites Focused Consultation | GNLP.

Bawburgh Parish Council

The Parish Council is made up of 5 members who all live in Bawburgh and represent the village on various matters.  We are effectively the third tier of local government, the other two being Norfolk County Council and South Norfolk District Council.

We meet on the third Thursday of every other month at 7.00pm in the village hall at Bawburgh.

The public are very welcome to attend and we encourage people to speak during the open forum which is part of each formal meeting.
